02 / Para-aramid

Aramid UD Fabric

Para-aramid UD for buyers who need heat resistance or a stab rating alongside ballistic performance. Three grades: ballistic only, ballistic plus anti-stab, and anti-stab only.

Why anti-stab needs a different build

Ballistic and stab protection work differently

Ballistic protection depends on cross-plied UD layers spreading a bullet’s energy across many fibers before it can push through. A knife or spike concentrates force on one small point instead, so the anti-stab grades add bulk and friction that resist a point punching through rather than relying on fiber spread alone. That is why GDK200 (ballistic only) and Anti-Stab (stab only) are built to different areal densities, and GDKPRO sits in between to do both.

FAQ

Common questions on Aramid UD Fabric

Which grade do I need: GDK200, GDKPRO or Anti-Stab?

GDK200 is ballistic protection only. GDKPRO adds anti-stab protection on top of ballistic. Anti-Stab is stab protection only, with no ballistic rating. Tell us the threat you need to cover and we will point you to the right grade.

Is a third-party test report available?

The areal density figures on this page are based on testing to NIJ 0101.06 and NIJ 0115.00 methodology. Ask us about available reports for your specific configuration.

What roll width and length do you supply?

Roll width is 1.6 m as standard. Roll length is 100 m and up, continuous.
