- • Width 1 to 3 m made to order. Roll length 50 m and up. Uncoated as standard.
- • We publish no layer count or protection level for the woven lines. Panel performance depends on the lay-up and pressing process at your plant, so we give you the fabric specification and leave the panel data to your own testing.
How it is made
From yarn to a woven roll
UHMWPE yarn is loaded onto a creel and drawn into the loom, where it is woven in a plain pattern at the denier and areal density ordered. The woven cloth runs uncoated as standard, and is inspected for width, weight and surface before winding into rolls.
Where the strength comes from
Why a plain weave holds up to cutting and abrasion
UHMWPE fiber itself has very high tensile strength for its weight, and weaving it in a tight plain pattern locks the yarns against each other so a cut or snag has to work through interlocked fiber rather than sliding threads apart. That combination is why this fabric goes into cut resistant clothing and gloves as well as helmet shells, and why we do not publish a ballistic protection level for it on its own: how a pressed panel or a garment performs depends on the lay-up at your plant, not on the fabric alone.
FAQ
Common questions on Woven UHMWPE Fabric
Can I get this fabric with a coating?
It runs uncoated as standard. Single-side coating is available on request, tell us the finish you need.
Why is there no protection level listed?
Panel performance depends on the number of layers and the pressing process at your plant, not on the fabric alone. We publish the fabric specification and leave protection testing to your own panel build.
What roll widths are available?
1 to 3 m, made to order. Roll length is 50 m and up.
